Scroby Elbow is a buoy that marks the point where Scroby Sands bends away from the coast. Its A.P. (assigned position) is tracked by Trinity House and changes as the sands shift. It forms part of a line of buoys which mark out the Yarmouth Roads, a shipping channel that allows vessels to navigate between the Sands and the coast.
