The rivulets of water creep down the canted pavement

Car park lights shimmering on the greasy black surface

I hover under the half-shelter of the forked tree

On the corner of St Julian’s Lane

I think of the rain she heard

Pattering ceaselessly on the roof

Of that knapped flint cell

All manner of things shall be well
